Jericho Unearthed Proves Biblical Account

I love archeology! This is a great short video I found on youtube that catches archaeologists in absolute lies and reveals truths. It includes interviews with Dr. Peter Parr and Dr. Bryant Wood. Dr. Parr worked with Kathleen Kenyon on the excavation of Jericho. Truly an excellent eye opening video. You can find more Biblical Archaeology at http://www.biblearchaeology.org/. Secretariat, God's Workmanship

I watched a documentary last night about a racehorse that I found very interesting and uplifting. Many of you have  probably already seen the 2010 movie Secretariat about an American Thoroughbred that became a racing legend by winning the Triple Crown in 1973. For those of you who haven't, it's a story worth knowing, the beautiful chestnut stallion was the first horse to win the Triple Crown in 25 years and to make it even more special, he won by an amazing 31 lengths. He ran with all his heart and the Lord filled him with a joy and desire to run. It was a beautiful thing to see. Brought tears to my eyes. 

The book of Job describes the character of a horse as the Lord designed it. The Lord is speaking to Job when He says, "Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane? Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting? It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray. It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword. The quiver rattles against its side, along with the flashing spear and lance. In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds. At the blast of the trumpet it snorts, ‘Aha!’ It catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry." Job 39:19-25 I think it describes Secretariat perfectly.

Dinosaur Alphabet Animation For Kids

Morning Inspirations

What a beautiful morning it is today.The sun is shining and everything is turning green and flowers blossoming. To add to it I found a couple more songs by another new group/artists that I had never heard but think are amazing and hope you will enjoy. I many not care for some of their other songs but there is no doubt they are extremely talented. I love both songs and the cellos are so pretty. O Come, Emmanuel is one of my all time favorites and the combination of piano and cello is beautiful. Have a great day and enjoy.

Nearer My God to Thee- The Piano Guys

The Story Behind the Hymn Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Tonight I was looking for the hymn "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" written by Robert Robinson on youtube. I wanted to listen to it before going to sleep. Anyhow in my search for a version I would enjoy, I came across a video that was a modern reenactment of the story behind the hymn. The video didn't clearly explain the story behind the hymn so I googled it and came across a blog that explained the story well. I suggest you visit this blog. To summarize, Robert Robinson was a wild youth that came to repentance listening to a George Whitefield sermon. He became a pastor and wrote a couple of hymns. Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing was written in 1757. Later in life he wandered from the Lord and apparently felt he could not return. Perhaps as the the story of Pilgrim's Progress, when Christian and Hopeful were captured by Giant Despair, and taken to Doubting Castle, he too fell prey to the devil's lies and forgot for a time the Promises of God. For those who aren't familiar with Pilgrim's Progress, Christian and Hopeful escape Doubting Castle when Christian realizes he has a key called Promise, which will open all the doors and gates of Doubting Castle.

It is said that Robert Robinson too found he had a key called Promise, when years later, he was riding in a stage coach with a young woman who did not know who he was but quoted the hymn Come Thou Fount to him. He replied, "Madam, I am the poor unhappy man who wrote that hymn many years ago, and I would give a thousand worlds, if I had them, to enjoy the feelings I had then." It is said that she responded by telling him “Sir, the ‘streams of mercy’ are still flowing.”

I truly hope that the account is true and that his relationship with the Lord was restored. There are plenty of people who can write songs about the Lord that are not true believers. However, if he truly believed, repented, and put his faith in the Lord when he was a younger man, then he belonged to the Lord and I have no doubt the story is true.

Song of Love and Faithfulness

Last night my parents sent me a link to a song that I found to be very encouraging and helped me to feel at peace about things. I watched it several times and then read my Bible before going to sleep. The first passage I read was Psalm 92. Verses 1 and 2 "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,". The whole Psalm is good but this was what I was thinking about this morning and decided I should start my morning with a song about the Love of the Lord and I thought I would share it with you. I hope it will encourage you and that your day will be blessed. If you do not know the Love of the Lord, I encourage you to read this.

No Greater Love

Today was Valentine's Day. My husband and I don't celebrate it but with others celebrating it, it does make you think of the ones that you love and have a special place in your heart and life. It also makes me think about the Greatest Love there is, the love of God. His is the only perfect true love; unselfish, patient, and so undeserved. That He would love us is amazing and hard to understand. The closest thing I can think to compare is the love a mother or father has for their child. No matter how much they may frustrate you and you may have to punish them for their own good, you never stop loving that child. It breaks your heart when they are sad, sick, unthankful for all you do for them, angry at you because they don't understand your decisions for them or correction are for their best. To love them more you feel your heart would have to burst because it could not contain more love than it does. As much as we love our children, that love is nothing compared with the love of the Lord. That is what is so hard to fathom.

So, I thought I would do a post on what true love is and some Scriptures that speak of that love. Below the verses I will embed some music videos I found on youtube that I really like and  that come to mind right now. I pray that if you don't know the love of the Lord, that you will come to.
