Biblical Archaeology - Pools of Siloam and Bethesda Found

I have always loved archaeology, especially if it focuses on Biblical places. It's so neat to see Scriptures come to life with the findings of places or peoples that were said to only be myth, proven to be real, and the Biblical accounts to be accurate and true.

Today I was reading John 5 where Jesus heals the paralytic at the five sided pool of Bethesda. Disabled people would gather there seeking the healing properties of the pool. The paralytic the Lord healed told the Lord he had no one to help him into the pool when the waters were stirred and others would get in before he could. So then, he had remained paralyzed for thirty-eight years. Jesus then told him to get up and pick up his mat and walk. The man did and was healed. This was the miracle the Lord preformed at the pool of Bethesda. I wondered if the pool had been discovered. I did some searching online and found that indeed it had. Previously the description of the five sided pool was dismissed as myth but it has been found just as described in the Biblical account. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. John 5:2

In 2005 archaeologists discovered the pool of Siloam where Jesus healed the blind man. See John chapter 9 for the full account. You can read the acticle I found that tells of the findings here.

Below are a couple of excellent youtube videos on findings that prove Biblical accounts to be true. There are so many more if one is willing to do the research. Enjoy.
